Shorpy

I just discovered Shorpy.
"{Shorpy} is a vintage photo blog featuring thousands of high-definition images from the 1850s to 1950s. The site is named after Shorpy Higginbotham, a teenage coal miner who lived 100 years ago." ~ Shorpy.com

Here are a few of my favorite's from Shorpy
{follow the direct link to the original Shorpy posting with a link to the large image file}

1896 "Bachelors' Glee Club, U.S.S. Maine."
Pipes and a banjo!

1917 "Grand Army of the Republic. Emblem carved in wood by switchman at peace monument."
As a collector of Odd Fellows antiques I love this image!  As an artist I am amazed by his wood carving skills! He has all the Odd Fellow's symbols in this piece.  Follow the link and look at the large image file, you'll see what I mean.

1918 "Old house, Md. Ave. N.E. Built by Thomas Taylor in 1876."

 1920 "O.J. DeMoll Co., Autocar truck."
 {direct link}

1890 "Grand Lodge I.O.O.F. of Dakotas. Street Parade."
This is actually from Ghost Cowboy –which later moved over to Shorpy–
but I had to share this photo of an Odd Fellows parade in Deadwood
